Shropshire casino plans dealt blow18 January 2007SHROPSHIRE, England – As reported by the Ludlow Advertiser: "A new gambling policy in south Shropshire will mean a rough ride for any developers wishing to bring a casino into the area. "South Shropshire has been declared a 'No Casino District' at a vote of the full council this month. "The vote means that applications for casino licences would still be dealt with on their merits but developers would be aware there was already a presumption that casinos would not be welcomed. "…However, SSDC licensing manager, Alan Proctor, said the council was still not allowed to refuse applications for casino licences out of hand…" |
