Showing Off Style That Works10 May 2004BILOXI – As reported by the Sun Herald: ``Outfitting thousands of Mississippi casino employees is an $8 million-a-year industry. So it's appropriate that a trade show for casino uniforms was held Friday, the day after the Southern Gaming Summit. ``Nineteen uniform makers, who design clothes for employees from valet parkers to cocktail waitresses, participated in At Work Uniforms annual trade show, which was held at Imperial Palace Casino. Managers from casinos across Mississippi and from far away as Las Vegas came to look at the latest fashions in employee garb. ``The latest trend for card dealers, bartenders and cafe workers is button-front bowling-style shirts with blocks of color, said Chuck Campbell, co-founder of At Work, which is based in Orange Beach, Ala. ``…Casinos spend an average of $200 a year buying uniforms for each employee, he said. ``…Not only do casinos spend a lot of money each year on employee uniforms, but every few years they also modify outfits to accentuate changes in the resort…" |
