Show of support for casino proposal in Saipan in Northern Marianas14 June 2010NORTHERN MARIANAS -- Public hearings on Saipan in the Marianas last week showed public support for a casino plan on the Island, Radio New Zealand reported. There was no opposition to the suggestion of legalizing casinos, according to the report. Previously people voted against casinos twice on Saipan, but the change of heart is likely due to the potential to kick start the economy, Radio New Zealand reported. |
