Sergei Petrushin wins European Masters of Poker Barcelona

DUBLIN, Ireland -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Sergei Petrushin from Russia has won stop four of season IV of the European Masters of Poker which was held at Gran Casino, Barcelona, Spain at the weekend.

Sergei lifted €56,875 for his victory in the €1,100 buy-in event after almost two hours of heads up play against Josep Maria Galindo Lopez from Spain.

Heads up the two players decided to make a deal leaving €10,000 extra for the winner.

The final hand came when Petrushin raised 200,000 pre-flop, Galindo Lopez pushed all in and, after a countdown which saw him cover Galindo Lopez, Petrushin called.

Petrushin had Kd Qc and Lopez had Ad 8h, the board fell Kc 3c 3s 4d 2d and Petrushin’s pair of kings was good enough for the title.

The final results and payouts were:

1st - Sergei Petrushin - €56,875
2nd - Jose Maria Galindo Lopez - €48,405
3rd - Joakim Rahmouni - €25,750
4th - Yosef Lamosh - €15,680
5th - Damien Collins - €12,320
6th - Marc Gonzalez - €9,520
7th - Adrian Nunez - €8,400
8th - Alexander Scherdin - €7,280
9th - Kevin Droz - €6,160

The European Masters of Poker now gears up for the final stop of the season at Clontarf Castle, Dublin, Ireland from November 16 to 18, 2012.

The main event buy in is €1,000 + €100 and players get a 45 minute clock for the first six levels and a 60 minute clock thereafter with a 20,000 starting stack.

Qualification is now underway on all poker sites on the IGT Poker network.
