September entertainment at The Orleans

(PRESS RELEASE) -- The Orleans will bring highly-acclaimed musical acts to The Orleans Showroom and Bourbon Street Lounge in September, featuring Australian soft rock duo Air Supply, Chinese dance drama HOME, country artist Clay Walker, renowned singer Engelbert Humperdinck and more. September entertainment will also feature free live entertainment at Bourbon Street Lounge throughout the month.

Formed in 1975, Air Supply members Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock burst into the music scene with their unique vocals, harmonic ballads and soft rock sound. Early in their career, the duo performed throughout Australia, winning over fans with hit singles like “Love and Other Bruises.” Air Supply later gained international recognition as the opening act for Rod Stewart’s North American tour.

Air Supply’s popularity skyrocketed with the release of their album “Lost in Love,” which sold more than two million copies. The album included the hit songs “All Out of Love,” “Every Woman in the World” and “Lost in Love,” which topped music charts across the globe, including in Australia, the U.K. and the United States. The soft rock group went on to release 30 albums and more hit singles like “The One That You Love,” “Making Love Out of Nothing,” “Even the Nights Are Better,” “Sweet Dreams” and “Just as I Am.”

After years of producing multiple hits and performing all over the world, Air Supply has received numerous recognitions as one of the most celebrated soft rock groups in music history. In 2008, the duo was named No. 83 on Billboard’s Top-100 musical acts of all time. Air Supply was also inducted into The Australian Recording Industry Association Hall of Fame in 2013.

Thursday, 6 September
The original dance drama HOME is a stage art masterpiece that reproduces the late Chinese novelist Ba Jin’s renowned literary classics.

The show illustrates the story of a feudal family living in Chengdu, China, depicting the various emotions and events experienced by the family through their lifetime.

Clay Walker
Saturday, 8 September and Sunday, 9 September

Texas-native Clay Walker began rocking the country scene in 1993 with his hit songs “What’s It to You” and “Live Until I Die” both from his self-titled debut album. He went on to release a string of No. 1 hits, including “If I Could Make a Living,” “This Woman and This Man” and “Rumor Has It.”

Throughout his career, Walker has released four certified-platinum albums, two certified-gold albums and 11 No. 1 singles. In addition to creating chart-topping country hits, Walker has also founded two non-profit organizations, Band Against MS and Military Warriors Support Foundation, supporting individuals battling multiple sclerosis and the men and women serving in the armed forces.

Engelbert Humperdinck – The Prodigal Son Tour
Saturday, 22 September and Sunday, 23 September

In the mid-1960s, Engelbert Humperdinck found early success in Europe with the hit single “Release Me,” which spent 56 weeks in the “Top 50” of the U.K. charts, and reached “No. 1” in 11 countries. Humperdinck followed-up the hit single with the ballads “There Goes My Everything” and “The Last Waltz.” In 1969, his self-titled album peaked at “No. 5” on both the U.S. and U.K. charts.

Humperdinck continued to produce hits in the 1970s, including “After the Lovin’,” which became a “Top Ten” single in the U.S., earning Gold designation. His album of the same name charted in the “Top 20” in the U.S. and was a Double-Platinum success for the singer. As the years went on, Humperdinck became a household name thanks to appearances on “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson” and popular television shows, including “The Love Boat,” “Hotel” and “Fantasy Island.”

Throughout his career, Humperdinck has recorded 64 Gold albums, 35 Platinum albums and has been nominated for four Grammy Awards. In addition, he has sold more than 140 million records worldwide. Humperdinck has also recorded with several fellow music legends, including Elvis Presley, Elton John, Kenny Rogers, Neil Sedaka, Gloria Gaynor and Willie Nelson.

Bourbon Street is a modern 140-seat lounge where guests can enjoy free-spirited productions from the best in live entertainment, unobscured sight-lines throughout the venue and a video poker bar. Schedule is subject to change.
