Seneca Niagara Casino Host Casino Workshop

NEW YORK – As reported by the Tonawanda News: "There were decks of cards, dealers and drinks, but no cash on the gambling tables at the Knights of Columbus in the City of Tonawanda on Tuesday night.

"The Chamber of Commerce of the Tonawandas teamed with Seneca Niagara Casino to present Gaming for Dummies night, a networking party where dealers taught players the basics of popular casino games.

"…At the bacarrat table, a card game similar to blackjack, dealer Keith John was instructing three men on the rules of the game in a mock round. The dealer plays a hand each for the banker and the player, with the object being to come as close the number nine as possible. Players at the table bet on either hand, but since the bank is favored (it reacts to the player's hand), the house charges a 5 percent commission for winning bank hands.

"…Kurt Alverson, president of the Chamber of Commerce of the Tonawandas, said the event provided a chance for local business owners and the public to network, while also being educated about something in our back yard…"
