Seneca County Approves Illegal Gambling Law

WATERLOO, New York – As reported by the Finger Lake Times: "Seneca County officials have approved a new law declaring illegal gambling a public nuisance, a move that some hope will lead to the closing of the Cayuga Indian Nation's Seneca Falls bingo hall.

"The Board of Supervisors Tuesday unanimously approved a 14-page local law — enforceable through the district attorney's office — that includes the outlawing of gaming machines such as those at LakeSide Entertainment at 2552 Route 89.

"The Route 89 facility is owned by the Cayuga Indian Nation of New York and includes more than 30 electronic bingo machines. The Nation also runs a gas station/convenience store on the site and two similar, but larger, businesses in Union Springs, Cayuga County…"
