Seneca Casino Breaks Ground for Hotel31 October 2005SALAMANCA, New York – As reported by the Times Herald: "The Seneca Allegany Casino took another step forward to it's eventual completion Saturday afternoon as members of the Seneca Nation Tribal Council and representatives from the Seneca Gaming Corporation broke ground for a 220-room resort hotel. "While the day was an important step forward for the development of the Seneca Allegany Casino, everyone involved with the celebration took time to acknowledge the past and heritage of the Seneca culture. "Fittingly, the ceremony's events opened with a blessing from Phillip Thompson spoken entirely in his native Seneca language "…The hotel complex that will be built in Salamanca will boast 64,500 square feet of gaming, including more than 2,100 slot machines. The hotel's plans also entail a new steakhouse restaurant, an Italian restaurant and a 24-hour cafe. "Visitors to the Seneca Allegany Casino can also look forward to using the new hotel's spa, pool and fitness center…" |
