Scotland: Garage manager jailed for gambling away employer's money

EDINBURGH, Scotland -- A gas station employee who stole £20,000 was handed 18 month jail sentence, the Edinburgh Evening News reports.

First time offender Irene Pow, who'd secured loans from the employer totalling £25,000, stole the additional money which she gambled in an effort to repay the loan.

The paper quoted her employer had discovered the money missing when there was "a significant drop in money" being deposited into the bank.
