Saskatchewan Gaming Results Up

SASKATOON, Saskatchewan – As reported by the Regina Leader-Post: "The Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA) released its third-quarter results on Thursday, showing a net income increase over last year of nearly 24 per cent.

"'It's reinforcing that we're on the right track,' said Edmund Bellegarde, SIGA's chief executive officer, in a telephone interview.

"…According to a news release from SIGA, the unaudited operating results from Oct. 1, 2003, to Dec. 31, 2003, show a steady increase over the same period for the prior fiscal year.

"SIGA's third-quarter results, for the three months ending Dec. 31, 2003, reveal a net income of $8,310,520 -- an increase of 23.6 per cent over the same quarter in 2002.

"SIGA's net revenue for the third-quarter, meanwhile, was $24,236,074 -- an increase of 11.2 per cent over the previous comparative quarter.

"…On a year-to-date basis, ending Dec. 31, 2003, SIGA posted a net income of $28,031,904, an increase of 20.2 per cent over the same period for the previous year.

"SIGA's net revenue, on a year-to-date basis, was $74,181,086, an increase of 13.7 per cent when compared to the previous year…"
