Saskatchewan Casino Plan Gets Supports

SASKATOON, Saskatchewan – As reported by the Saskatoon Star Phoenix: "The Saskatoon Chamber of Commerce is asking the provincial government to 'move forward' on two initiatives that have been pushed by First Nations groups in the Saskatoon area.

"The chamber is calling for the province to move quickly on approving the proposed casino-resort development on the Whitecap reserve south of Saskatoon.

"…The Saskatoon chamber's resolution on the casino cites 'the obvious need to accelerate investment growth and job attraction" and states the province "needs a much higher sense of urgency in analysing projects that attract investment, tourists, jobs and builds the tax base in Saskatchewan."

"Chief Darcy Bear of Whitecap has expressed concern about missing an opportunity to get the casino started early in the current construction season…"
