Saratoga Gaming and Raceway Opens its Doors

SARATOGA SPRINGS, New York -- (Press Release) -- Saratoga Gaming and Raceway opened its doors to the public January 28, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. to an anxiously awaiting crowd.

The celebrations began early as the hundreds of customers flowed into the new gaming facility in Saratoga Springs, NY. At the end of the day, the total number of customers raised to over 10,000.

Present for the record opening were President of Saratoga Gaming and Raceway, Daniel Gerrity; Gaming General Manager, Jamie Hartman; and President of Sportsystems for Delaware North Companies, Inc., Ron Sultemeier.

"We are very excited for this day to finally be here," said Gerrity, "The facility has turned out wonderfully, and we are delighted to have the public partake in all Saratoga Gaming and Raceway has to offer."

The gaming facility boasts over 1,300 state-of-the-art video gaming machines, two restaurants, three bars, a food court, a gift shop, and a variety of guest services including valet parking and coat check. To kick-off the opening day, the first 5,000 customers entering the gaming facility received a free logo t-shirt.

Also today patrons began to sign-up for our Player Extras Club. This card will allow patrons to accumulate points toward free gifts, merchandise, and food and beverage discounts.

At the time of application, the patrons were given an entry form to win a brand new 2004 Chevy Trailblazer, the winner will be drawn at the Grand Opening event on March 3.

"The crowds of customers have been wonderful all day," said Hartman. By 3:00 p.m., more than 5,000 customers had entered the gaming facility and tried their luck at the video gaming machines, also known as VGMs.

"We feel today has been a big success," Hartman continued, "Our staff has done an incredible job, and the support we have received from Delaware North Companies, Inc. has been immeasurable."

Through a contractual agreement, Delaware North Companies Inc., a leading hospitality and entertainment management group headquartered in Buffalo, NY, will be managing all VGMs and food and beverage operations on site.

Saratoga Gaming and Raceway is located on Crescent Avenue in Saratoga Springs, NY. Operating hours for the gaming facility are 10 a.m. to 2 a.m., seven days a week. All patrons must be at least 18 years of age to play the Video Gaming Machines or wager on the harness races. Simulcast races can be viewed daily. Live Harness races are held Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday evenings. Post time for all races is 7:10 p.m.
