Saratoga Casino and Raceway honors four team members with $2,500 award23 February 2016(PRESS RELEASE) -- Saratoga Casino and Raceway honored the exceptional performance of four top team members at its annual awards banquet, held February 22 at Vapor. "The success of our company comes from its people. At Saratoga Casino and Raceway, we're lucky to have hundreds of dedicated and hardworking team members," said General Manager Tom Wiedmayer. "These team members represent the best of our company, and I’m proud to come to work with them every day." Awards were presented to: Leader of Distinction: Bill McQuiston, Pari-Mutuel Manager Supervisor of the Year: Mary-Ella Gardiner, VGM Supervisor Team Members of the Year: Debra Stark, Payroll Assistant Sara Nizolek, Cocktail Server Awards are based on nominations submitted throughout the year by Saratoga Casino and Raceway team members for any team member who is performing exceptional service. Once submitted, the nominations are reviewed and voted on by members of the Rewards and Recognition Committee. Two team members are selected monthly for the "Team Member of the Month" award. "Leaders of Distinction" and "Supervisors of the Quarter" are voted upon by senior management and directors and selected once every three months from candidates who exhibit outstanding strength and skills in leadership. All winners are invited to the annual awards banquet where the pool of 32 winners are honored before final selections for the Team Members of the Year, Supervisor of the Year, and Leader of Distinction are awarded. The 4 winners are each presented with a trophy and a $2,500 check. Over 100 were in attendance at the event, which also featured a special salute to two team members who have worked for Saratoga Casino and Raceway for 15 to 25 years. Senior Vice President of Racing Operations, Don Braim made a special presentation to the honorees. April Cilione, Drop Count Supervisor, was awarded for her 15 years of service and Ray Topjian, Bartender, was honored for his 25 years with the company. |
