Sands' sale of Macau property may raise $12 billion

28 April 2010

MACAO -- The Chairman of Las Vegas Sands says the company could raise $12 billion from apartments and malls and may sell such assets in a couple of years, according to a Bloomberg report.

Sheldon Adelson made the remarks in Singapore yesterday where he attended the soft opening of the company's new Marina Bay Sands resort, Bloomberg reported.

Adelson explained that recouping construction costs from other assets such as retail and real estate is the Las Vegas Sands business model, Bloomberg said.
