Sac and Fox Nation breaks ground for casino20 August 2007OKLAHOMA -- As reported by the Shawnee News-Star: "As she tightened her grip on the beaded shovel, 95-year-old Mary Ellis helped the Sac and Fox Nation Saturday celebrate the Nation's groundbreaking for a new casino. "The day's ceremonies also included songs, recognitions, speakers and a reception. "...Many of the people involved with the ceremony and making the casino happen said the road has been a long, difficult one, but the time has finally arrived for a permanent location. "...Keynote speaker Bill Sasser said, 'This is a proud day for me and for the Nation.' "...Sasser said construction is expected to begin within four weeks and be completed in eight to 10 months.
