Russian Republic Closes Gambling Parlors

RUSSIA – As reported by the Moscow Times: "Russian internal republic of Ingushetia is having all of its gambling establishments closed, the republic's president Murat Zyazikov said on Tuesday, less then a week after a similar decision was taken in neighboring Chechnya.

"He said he had received a complaint from religious authorities and public organizations. Interfax reports.

"…North Caucasian regions have seen too many gambling arcades open recently, the republic's president said…"
