Roulette Player Wins Lawsuit

SPAIN – As reported by the UK Guardian: "A Spanish judge has ordered a top casino to open its doors to a prolific gambler after it ruled that his successful and sophisticated betting system did not amount to cheating.

"Gonzalo García-Pelayo won more than €1m (US$1.2 million) during a two-year run on the roulette table in the early 90s. Now, after a 10-year battle to clear his name, he has been handed a chance to return to the table.

"The judge said there was nothing illegal in Mr García-Pelayo's approach, which used sophisticated computer modelling techniques to work out which numbers offered the best chance of winning.

"…Over the next 10 years, as the case slowly moved through the Spanish courts, Mr García-Pelayo wrote a book about his adventures and took up online poker…"
