Rosecroft Raceway Attracts Dozen Bids

MARYLAND – As reported by the Thoroughbred Times: "Twelve interests submitted bids on November 21 to purchase Rosecroft Raceway, a Standardbred facility near Washington, D.C., that could be Maryland's most lucrative site of slot machines if the Legislature approves expanded gaming at state racetracks.

"Centaur Gaming Inc. won a bid last year to purchase Rosecroft for $55-million, but it lost its chance and a $2.5-million deposit when it could not make good on the purchase by a November 1 deadline. Centaur has filed legal proceedings claiming that it still has rights to purchase the track…"
