Riverwind Casino supports Meals on Wheels26 February 2018(PRESS RELEASE) -- Valentine's Day is about showing love and appreciation to those we care about. The volunteers with Meals on Wheels of Norman experienced this on Valentine's Day as Riverwind Casino employees stopped by the distribution center to thank the volunteers for their efforts in person. "Being a part of the community is important to everyone at Riverwind," said Justin Yahola, Riverwind's general manager. "We are thankful for the opportunity we had to give back to the volunteers of the Meals on Wheels program. Their hard work and dedication to providing meals and comradery to those in need does not go unnoticed – they are the heart and soul of our community." Meals on Wheels is an organization dedicated to providing nutritional meals to members of the community who may not be able to make their meals or go out on their own. Riverwind has been a part of the Meals on Wheels "Adopt-A-Route" partner since 2014. "The partnership with Riverwind Casino is a very valued resource for Meals on Wheels. Their support allows us to serve the ill, disabled, and seniors in need," said Lynn Haynes, executive director of Meals on Wheels of Norman. "In 2017, we experienced a growth of nearly 15% in number of meals served. The continued support from Riverwind Casino helps us to face an ever-growing senior population." |
