Rivers Casino tax to fund 19 civic projects

ALLEGHENY COUNTY, Pennsylvania -- Taxes raised from the Rivers Casino will now fund 19 projects that are civic, education, environmental and arts related, according to a Trib Live report.

The money has been redirected from the failed proposal for a convention centre in Pittsburgh, the report said.

In total $6.5 million in grant funding has been awarded in grants, Trib Live reported.
