Rivers Casino Schenectady to host George Lopez

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Acclaimed television, film and comedy superstar George Lopez will bring his hilarious stand-up show to the Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady Event Center on Saturday, 24 August 2019. Lopez is always a sure-fire hit with comedy fans and will treat guests to an unforgettable evening of laughs.

Tickets go on sale to the public on Friday, 24 May at 10 a.m. Tickets start at $55 and will be available online or the Proctors Theater Box Office in Schenectady. VIP packages (meet & greet and merchandise package options with premium seating) are also available. Doors for the event open at 7 p.m. and the show begins at 8 p.m.

Lopez’s multifaceted career encompasses television, film, stand-up comedy and late-night television. He most recently starred in the comedy series Lopez on TV Land and hosted Lopez Tonight, a late-night television talk show on TBS.

His groundbreaking hit sitcom George Lopez ran for six seasons on ABC and is among one of the top five comedies in syndication, ranking as one of the highest-rated syndicated shows on broadcast stations and cable’s Nick at Nite.

Lopez was featured in HBO specials The Wall in 2017 and It’s Not Me, It’s You in 2012. He earned 4 Grammy nominations for Best Comedy Album for his HBO Comedy Specials, Tall, Dark and Chicano in 2009, and America’s Mexican in 2007, as well as his stand-up CD’s El Mas Chignon in 2007 and Team Leader in 2004.

Lopez also voiced animated characters in a string of animated blockbuster films including Rio and Rio 2, Escape from Planet Earth, along with The Smurfs and The Beverly Hills Chihuahua franchises. His other recent film credits include the box-office hit Valentine's Day, Swing Vote, Henry Poole Is Here and Balls of Fury.

In 2006, Lopez received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In addition, Time magazine has named him one of the 25 Most Influential Hispanics in America, and the Harris Poll named him one of the Top Ten Favorite Television Personalities.
