Rivers Casino Schenectady presents donation to Veterans Miracle Center5 May 2017(PRESS RELEASE) -- Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady Director of Community Relations Scott Clay, Vice President of Human Relations Kate McMahon and Director of Sales Carney McGuire were joined by Veterans Miracle Center President Barry Feinman and Administrative Assistant Diane Bristol for a check presentation at the Veterans Miracle Center offices in Albany on Thursday, 4 May. Rivers presented a donation of $7,000 to the Veterans Miracle Center. Rivers Casino held a special Appreciation Night celebration on 6 February, to thank the many partners that helped bring the $330 million casino from vision to reality. The event featured low limit gaming and the proceeds of that event, supplemented by a donation from Rush Street Gaming, constitute the charitable donation. In total, $21,000 was donated, split evenly between The Veterans Miracle Center, SEAT Center, and Schenectady Emergency Services (Police and Fire Departments). The Veterans Miracle Center's mission is to offer veterans and active-duty military personnel real solutions that will enhance their lives. The Veteran's Miracle Center seeks to provide personal at-home supplies and counseling for personal needs. "One of our central principles at Rivers is to be a great community partner, and being able to use proceeds from our Appreciation Night like this is part of that mission," said Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady General Manager Mary Cheeks. "The Veterans Miracle Center is a great organization with an important mission, and we're proud to support them." Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady features a 50,000-square-foot gaming floor with 1,150 slot machines, 67 gaming tables and 15 poker tables. The floor is attached to a 10,000-square-foot banquet facility capable of hosting more than 900 people for conventions and special events, one of the largest spaces in the region. Also on the property are five restaurants, Splash Spa and a 165-room hotel, opening summer of 2017. For more information on Rivers Casino & Resort, visit the website. |
