Rivers Casino Schenectady celebrates St. Patrick's Day Weekend

13 March 2019

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady will be hosting a jam-packed lineup of live music from Celtic music favorites The McKrells, U2 tribute band Unforgettable Fire, and 80’s hard rock tribute band Mullet for St. Patrick’s Day weekend. Duke’s Chophouse, Flipt and Van Slyck’s will all feature Irish-themed food and drink specials. Casino guests on St. Patrick’s Day will also have a unique opportunity to shop for authentic and popular Irish products at the Lennon’s of Schenectady’s pop-up shop, which will be located directly across from the Event Center – just steps away from the Casino floor.

“We have a very exciting St. Patrick’s Day weekend celebration planned and are thrilled to be hosting a pop-up shop by Lennon’s of Schenectady,” said Rivers Casino Director of Marketing, Rob Christopher. “We thought it would be a nice added amenity for our guests and fitting for the weekend’s activities. Bringing local businesses into events like this is a great way to introduce people to all that Schenectady has to offer.”

Located on Jay Street in downtown Schenectady, Lennon’s carries popular Irish products, unique jewelry, clothing, gifts, food, and many other fine Irish products. Offering that famous Irish charm and hospitality, Lennon’s also features a small grocery section with Irish sweets.

St. Patrick’s Day weekend food and drink specials on Saturday, 16 March and Sunday, 17 March, include Irish-themed food and drink items at Dukes Chophouse, Flipt, and Van Slyck’s. Dukes Chophouse will be offering a choice of corned beef shank with cabbage & mashed potatoes for $30 or Fish ‘N’ Chips for $25; Flipt will have lucky green milkshakes, along with a corned beef sandwich with fries and a 12 oz Guinness beer special; and Van Slyck’s will have green beer on tap and 12 oz Guinness bottle special along with a monster pretzel with beer cheese.

U2 tribute band, Unforgettable Fire, will hit the Event Center stage at Rivers Casino on Friday, 15 March with doors opening at 7 p.m. and the show beginning at 8 p.m. Making their return after being part of Rivers’ inaugural season of the popular outdoor concert series, Harbor Jam, Unforgettable Fire is the next best thing to an actual U2 concert. This show is free and exclusively for Rush Rewards members only. There is no cost to join Rush Rewards and guests can sign-up at the casino on the day of the show. All Rush Rewards members may receive one complimentary ticket at the Rush Rewards Center on the day of the show. Limited first-come, first-served seating will be available.
