Rivers Casino opens in Des Plaines

DES PLAINES, Illinois -- Rivers Casino in Des Plaines opened this weekend with some celebrity buzz, The Daily Herald reported.

Actor Jim Belushi was present to launch the new casino, the report said.

Belushi wasn't the only one watching, however, as casinos in neighbouring towns like Elgin and Aurora are likely to see their bottom line impacted by Rivers Casino presence, The Daily Herald report noted.
