Rivers Casino makes $4.5 million payment for CONSOL Energy Center4 April 2016(PRESS RELEASE) -- Rivers Casino and the Sports & Exhibition Authority of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County (SEA) announced today that $4.5 million from Rivers has been put toward construction expenses for CONSOL Energy Center. Rivers Casino contributes $7.5 million annually to the SEA, with installments occurring in April and October. To date, Rivers has generated $52.5 million to help fund construction expenses for CONSOL Energy Center, one of the city's premier entertainment venues and home of the Pittsburgh Penguins. Rivers Casino will have contributed $225 million to the SEA for CONSOL Energy Center's construction by the time the agreement concludes in 2038. "We're pleased to do our part in making CONSOL Energy Center a leading entertainment destination in Pittsburgh," said Craig Clark, general manager of Rivers Casino. "The funds generated from this partnership will continue to make CONSOL a great place to celebrate and an excellent home for the Pittsburgh Penguins." Rivers Casino generates approximately $161 million each year for various organizations across Pittsburgh, Allegheny County and the Commonwealth, including Pittsburgh's economic development and tourism fund. "Rivers Casino continues to demonstrate its commitment to being a good corporate citizen. Its positive impact is felt throughout the City of Pittsburgh," said Wayne Fontana, chairman of the SEA and Pennsylvania State Senator. |
