Rivers Casino hosting the Philadelphia Poker Championship Series

(PRESS RELEASE) -- The Philadelphia Poker Championship Series will feature $550,000 in guaranteed prize pools over 22 days at Rivers Casino Philadelphia. The packed schedule includes the $250,000 guaranteed Main Event as well as the popular Mystery Rush ($200,000) and Little Rush ($100,000) tournaments. The series runs from Sunday, 19 February through Sunday, 12 March.

"Rivers Casino always offers quality structures, and we know this series will attract players from the Philadelphia region and beyond," said Jim Moore, Rivers Casino manager of poker operations. "Our price points will appeal to both our daily grinders as well as no-limit players looking for a higher buy-in that will lead to outstanding prize pools."

Buy-ins for the Philadelphia Poker Championship Series events range from $180 to $2,200, and players will have many opportunities to satellite into the Main Event and Mystery Rush tournaments which includes a guaranteed top bounty prize of $25,000. All three events will be two-day tournaments, with multiple Day One starting flights and longer levels on Day Two.

"Don’t miss this event! The PPCS gives Rivers everyday players and other East Coast players bigger buy-in events, which are hard to find this time of year," said Justin Moore, general manager of Rivers Casino Philadelphia.

In partnership with Philadelphia Marriott Old City, Rivers is offering a discounted room rate for the Main Event. Players can contact the poker room for more information; the discount is based on room availability.

Little Rush — $100,000 Guaranteed
  • Sunday, 19 February through Sunday, 26 February
  • $180 buy-in
  • 25k starting stacks, 25- and 40-minute levels

Main Event — $250,000 Guaranteed
  • Friday, 3 March through Sunday, 5 March
  • $2,200 buy-in
  • 40k starting stacks, 45- and 60-minute levels

Satellites: Sunday, Feb. 26, through Thursday, March 2 ($240 buy-in, two seats)

Mystery Rush — $200,000 Guaranteed
  • Wednesday, 8 March, through Sunday, 12 March
  • $560 buy-in
  • 30k stacks, 30- and 40-minute levels

Satellites: Monday, 6 March and Tuesday, 7 March ($100 buy-in + $25 bounty, five seats)

In addition to the Philadelphia Poker Championship Series, Rivers Casino offers daily poker tournaments, high-hand promotions ranging from $200 to $500 and a 24/7 $100,000 Bad Beat Jackpot.
