Rio Enters Marketing Alliance with Greektown Casino

15 March 2004

LAS VEGAS – (Press Release) -- The Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas has entered into an alliance with Greektown Casino in Detroit, Mich., to develop a casino marketing program for Greektown players seeking to travel to Las Vegas as an alternative gaming destination.

The alliance will enable Greektown Casino to provide its players an opportunity to enjoy new gaming experiences at one of Las Vegas' premier casino hotel resorts, as well as benefit Rio players who live in the Detroit area.

"We are proud to align Rio with Greektown Casino in this new business relationship," said Marilyn Winn, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Rio. "Greektown is a leader in the Detroit gaming market and has achieved a reputation for offering world-class gaming, dining, entertainment and player-reward programs. Rio is a perfect match for Greektown and its customers."

"We have always admired the Rio's ability to maintain its strong presence in the face of a very competitive and growing Las Vegas market," said Craig Ghelfi, Chief Operating Officer of Greektown. "It will be a very exciting incentive to offer our customers access to Rio, with its lively Carnival theme, gaming action and top name entertainment. We want Rio to become an extension of the party we started at Greektown."

Rio, with its famous neon-lit towers, opened in 1988. There are 2,500 suites and 120,000 square feet of gaming space featuring approximately 2,500 slot machines and 100 table games. Home to pre-eminent magicians Penn & Teller, Rio is known for its unique brand of entertainment. The property features 16 dining experiences, including the world famous Carnival World Buffet and VooDoo Cafe and Lounge, shopping, spa, pools, award-winning Rio Secco championship golf course and spacious Pavilion convention center.

Located in the heart of Detroit's famed Greektown entertainment and shopping district, Greektown offers an elegant, spacious and comfortable total entertainment destination. Its 75,000 square feet of casino space features more than 2,500 of the latest slot machines, and more than 90 table games. Greektown offers two outstanding restaurants in addition to the many restaurants across the street and two lounges, including a circular elevated lounge in the middle of the casino, the dazzling Opa Bar and five other bars. A direct stop on the Detroit People Mover, Greektown is located across the street from the luxurious Atheneum Suite Hotel and Conference Center.
