Ribbon cutting ceremony for Chairman Tower at Trump Taj Mahal to be held October 2

3 October 2008

TLANTIC CITY, New Jersey -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Trump Entertainment Resorts announced that it will hold a historic ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of The Chairman Tower at the Trump Taj Mahal on Thursday, October 2, 2008, at 4:00 pm.

The Chairman Tower will officially usher in a new level of luxury for Trump's Atlantic City properties and is the third in a series of new towers in the city. The first twenty of the tower's 39 floors opened on August 29, with approximately 350 rooms and suites. The entire inventory of rooms will be opened by the end of December 2008.

A full array of dignitaries will be on hand to mark the momentous event, which is open to the public. Those expected to attend include Governor Jon S. Corzine; Donald J. Trump, Chairman of the Board of Trump Entertainment Resorts, Inc. and President and Chief Executive Officer of The Trump Organization, LLC; Ivanka M. Trump Vice President of Development & Acquisitions for The Trump Organization, LLC; Atlantic City Mayor Scott Evans, Mark Juliano, Chief Executive Officer of Trump Entertainment Resorts and Rosalind Krause, General Manager of Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort.

Other state and local government leaders, members of the business sector and the construction workers who helped build The Chairman Tower are expected to join in the celebration as well.

The ceremonial snipping of the ribbon will be followed by a private reception held on the outdoor promenade just off of Spice Road and attended by invited guests from the private, business and government sectors of the community.

The much-anticipated launch of the $255 million Chairman Tower secures Trump Entertainment Resorts' reputation as one of Atlantic City's leaders in providing top-flight accommodations that cater to both leisure and business travelers. From the moment the company announced its plans to build the luxury tower – the latest in a series of significant capital investments at the Taj – a flurry of buzz has surrounded the project. Earlier this year, The Chairman Tower drew attention as the final construction beam was put in place. Governor Corzine, Donald Trump, Ivanka Trump, Mark Juliano, Rosalind Krause and Mayor Scott Evans presided over a 'topping off ceremony' on the outdoor promenade of the new tower on March 31, 2008.

"We've been saying for many years that Atlantic City must add rooms in order to become a destination for both leisure and business travelers. As the city continues to evolve, so do we," said Mark Juliano, CEO. "The Chairman Tower puts Trump Taj Mahal ahead of the curve when it comes to luxurious rooms and prime meeting space."

The Chairman Tower features 782 guest rooms, including 74 suites – eight of which will be at the Penthouse level and offer full-scale luxury. These suites boast the same striking style, plush amenities and impeccable service for which Taj Mahal's legendary Penthouse Suites are so revered. Once open, Trump Taj Mahal's room inventory in The Chairman Tower and Taj Tower will total 2,032 rooms and suites.

"The Trump brand has become synonymous with the complete entertainment and business experience," said Rosalind Krause, General Manager of Trump Taj Mahal. "We've renovated our casino floor, added new dining, entertainment and shopping experiences for our guests and we will be recognized for creating memorable entertainment experiences through superior and personalized service," added Krause.

"But by no means are we finished expanding the property," added Mark Juliano. "We've built this gorgeous, new tower while preserving valuable land to develop future projects. As we invest in ourselves we invest in the future of the industry, and the customer benefits greatly from this forward-looking business plan."

The customers aren't the only beneficiaries of the large-scale project. Approximately 200 additional staffing positions will be added to meet the needs of the new tower. The added positions come as welcome news in an otherwise struggling economy.

The Chairman Tower is connected to the original tower via the Spice Road level. Guests can check in at the existing front desk and proceed to the second level to access The Chairman Tower at Trump Taj Mahal.

Guests will enjoy a luxurious residential experience during their stay at The Chairman Tower – a rare and pleasing feeling for any traveler. Larger rooms with higher ceilings and modern bathrooms include double sinks recessed into Brazilian granite counter tops, oversized walk-in showers with water closets in a separate room, and other amenities. Each room is equipped with a 50" high-definition plasma TV, an iPod® docking station, wireless Internet access and more.

Contemporary rooms range from 425 to 550 square feet and come in three distinct layouts. All feature upgraded comforts and amenities, including large bathrooms, the latest technology, a concealed coffee service area, as well as pillow-top mattresses, premium linens, a refrigerator and a safe.

The Chairman Tower suites come in four layouts, the most common featuring a living room and dining area, with one bedroom and private bath. They range from 950 to 1,140 square feet and feature floor to ceiling windows for spectacular views of the ocean. Each suite also offers a powder room just off the living room area, as well as a wet bar. Eight suites top off The Chairman Tower. Four contain one bedroom and range from 950 to 1,140 square feet. The remaining four boast two massive bedroom suites. The Chairman Tower at Trump Taj Mahal was designed with leisure and business travelers in mind. In fact, the new tower has three handsomely designed meeting rooms, located just off the elevator lobby. Each contains approximately 1,200 square feet of space.

The overall design of the rooms and suites can be described as streamlined and contemporary. The color palette, inspired by the spices of Asia, is complemented nicely by traditional motifs in the carpet patterns. Custom-designed doors truly distinguish The Chairman Tower as a signature luxury hotel. The entry doors exude warmth upon arriving, while Macassar Ebony inlays and an East Indian rosewood ladder design offer exotic touches. The interior doors display equal attention to detail. The bathroom doors incorporate technology and aesthetics. They each feature a translucent saffron-colored cell. When the bathroom is in use, the cell glows.

The furniture, made of East Indian Rosewood, echoes the contemporary feel of the new tower. The elegant drapery – in colorful bands of greens, browns and golds – finishes the rooms.

The principal architect for The Chairman Tower at Trump Taj Mahal is The Friedmutter Group of Las Vegas, NV (Joe Emanuele, Vice President, Atlantic City Project Architect). Interior design was spearheaded by Calvin Dix and Katie Adams of Hirsch Bedner Associates located in Santa Monica, California. The color palette consists of rich browns, golds and red tones, creating a warm and contemporary atmosphere. Bovis Lend Lease is overseeing the construction of The Chairman Tower.
