Rhode Island Gambling Bust was Largest

ROCHESTER, Rhode Island – As reported by the Foster's Online: "Police say Bernard Bennett and Joseph F. Wade Jr. gambled big — but lost even bigger.

"Big enough to make them two of the final suspects to fall in a three-year investigation and bust that captured almost $390,000 in gambled cash.

"The sum makes it the largest gambling seizure in state history, according to police.

"…State Police Lt. Brian Hester said the multidepartment investigation team expect to arrest three more area residents in connection with the bust.

"…Members of the Rochester Police Department, Internal Revenue Service and New Hampshire State Police executed two search warrants and seized about $29,000 in currency during the arrests.

"…Money seized in connection with the Rochester operation totaled $388,954, which includes money taken during 12 different arrests throughout the three-year investigation…"
