Rhode Island ballot deadline passes11 August 2010RHODE ISLAND -- The deadline for the question of "full-scale casino gambling" to get on the ballot has passed, The Providence Journal reported. There had been the hope that the house would allow voters to vote on live blackjack and more at the Twin River and Newport Grand properties, the report said. The governor currently has a veto in place that lawmakers by missing this deadline will allow to stand, The Providence Journal report said. Rhode Island is keeping a close eye on the situation in Massachusetts, the report made note. |
