Revenue Up for Stratosphere Parent

LAS VEGAS -- The parent company of the Stratosphere and the two Arizona Charlie's casinos announced Wednesday an increase in net revenues of 14 percent and a 64 percent increase in pre-tax earnings for 2004.

American Casino and Entertainment Properties, a subsidiary of American Real Estate Partners, which is 85 percent owned by Carl Icahn, said its three Las Vegas casinos had net revenues of $300 million in 2004, compared with net revenues of $262.8 million in 2003.

The casino's pretax earnings were $72.4 million in 2004, compared with $44.1 million in 2003.
