Revenue Rises for Kansas City Casinos

MISSOURI – As reported by the Kansas City Business Journal: "The Kansas City-area's four casinos posted higher revenue in March compared with the year-ago month, according to statistics the Missouri Gaming Commission released Monday.

"…For the 18th-straight month, Ameristar Casino & Hotel Kansas City led the area's casinos in revenue, with $21.9 million, up 8 percent from $20.4 million in March 2004, the agency said in a written release.

"…Revenue for the Kansas City market as a whole was $61.7 million, up 7 percent from $57.8 million a year earlier.

"…Jim Oberkirsch, the commission's chief financial analyst, said a lot of curiosity about expansions at Argosy Casino, Isle of Capri Casino and Ameristar pumped up customer totals in March 2004. Customer totals increased at Argosy but decreased at Ameristar and Isle of Capri in March 2005…"
