Residents Concerned Over Racino Plans

SARATOGA SPRINGS, New York – As reported by the Saratogian: "Shortly after the first viewings of the plans were had, concerns are already being raised by residents living in the area.

"The fears of some homeowners in the area became a reality after the plans were made public and they did not include sidewalks on the southern side of the entrance to Saratoga Gaming and Raceway.

"There will only be sidewalks added north of the entrance on the west side of Jefferson Street.

"Planning Board Chair Lewis Benton said he has already received a call alerting him to this.

"…With an estimated increase of 362 peak-hour vehicles traveling to and from the site neighborhood associations have raised concerns about the lack of sidewalks creating a safety hazard in the area…"
