Request for Caesars Contribution Inquiry Rejected6 May 2004MINNESOTA – As reported by the Minnesota Star Tribune: "A state legislator on Tuesday asked House Speaker Steve Sviggum to investigate the actions of Caesars Entertainment in offering questionable campaign contributions to several key House members. "Rep. Mindy Greiling, DFL-Roseville, said the investigation is needed to get to the bottom of contributions the gambling company offered early in the legislative session, just as a measure that could result in a Caesars casino at the Mall of America was making its way through committees. "…Sviggum said he would not call for an investigation and probably would not even respond to Greiling's letter, saying the incident was closed…" |
