Report: Rhode Island Leads in Gambling19 January 2004RHODE ISLAND – As reported by the Rhode Island Providence Journal: "Rhode Island remains first in the nation in per-capita spending on gambling, according to a report issued yesterday. "Rhode Islanders spent the equivalent of $1,115.33, in 2002, for every man, woman and child in the state on Lottery-sponsored gambling, including scratch tickets and Keno. "But the vast majority of that money went into the video lottery terminals at Lincoln Park and Newport Grand. In second-place Delaware, the per-capita average was a reported $842; in third-place South Dakota, $828…" |
