Report Reveals Planet Hollywood Projected Numbers24 February 2006PHILADELPHIA – As reported by the Philadelphia Inquirer: "Planet Hollywood's proposed casino on the riverfront would generate between $23 million and $60 million in gambling tax revenue for the federal, state and city governments in its first year, and generate at least 2,300 jobs, according to an economic-impact report made public yesterday. "While it is understood that the Riverwalk Casino will primarily serve the local and regional communities around Philadelphia, the project will still generate a portion of its revenue from casino patrons who reside outside of Philadelphia," the 35-page report states. It was accompanied by a detailed traffic-impact study. "Planet Hollywood, of Orlando, Fla., became the third of five casino operators seeking a license to operate a slots parlor in the city to release a local-impact report. SugarHouse Gaming, of Chicago, and Donald J. Trump's casino company have made their reports public. SugarHouse unveiled a report totaling more than 500 pages on Monday, while Trump's 100-page report was posted on a Web site earlier this month by a government watchdog group…" |
