Red Lake Band of Chippewa Indians extend casino closures

30 March 2020

The Red Lake Band of Chippewa Indians announced that its casinos (Seven Clans Casino Red Lake, Seven Clans Casino Warroad and Seven Clans Casino Thief River Falls) will be extending the temporary closures for another two weeks. Below is a statement from the tribe's website.

" Seven Clans Casinos is extending our closure through April 13, 2020. Seven Clans Casinos Management Team & the Red Lake Tribal Council are united in the effort to prevent the spread of Coronavirus COVID-19. (Although, there have been NO reported cases from any of our properties). All Seven Clans Casinos will remain temporarily CLOSED with a potential open date of April 13, 2020. We are committed to the health and well-being of our Red Lake Nation tribal members, communities, our valued patrons and most of all our employees. As the new tentative date approaches, our Management Team & Red Lake Tribal Council will re-evaluate the situation and we will update, as needed, should there be any changes.
  • Any upcoming Hotel reservations through April 13, 2020 will be automatically canceled and refunded.
  • Our Anchors Aweigh event scheduled on March 26 & 27, 2020 will be rescheduled at a later date.
We would like to thank all of our guests for your continued patience and understanding during this difficult time. The continued dedication we have received from our workforce is greatly appreciated! Please continue to stay safe, we will continue to support any efforts that will protect the health and well-being of our communities.

We urge people to follow guidance from the CDC and the World Health Organization:
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
  • Create social distancing in your personal space and limit personal contact as much as possible.
  • If you are sick, stay home and seek medical attention if you experience symptoms. COVID-19 is an acute respiratory illness that can be very harmful.
  • Avoid exposing others to a virus by covering your mouth and nose with a tissue (not your hands) when coughing or sneezing (or an elbow or shoulder if no tissue is available).
We miss you! We look forward to seeing all of your friendly faces soon! We need each other now more than ever. We know we will get through these uncertain times together.

During this closure period, we will do our absolute best to keep our patrons updated via our Website and Facebook Pages. If we should decide to open sooner, or feel it is necessary to extend this temporary closure, we will update social media and website as soon as possible. We feel this is the best decision for all. For updates please continue to follow us on Facebook or visit our website"
