Racino at Pompano Track Details Revealed8 May 2006BILOXI, Mississippi – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Isle of Capri Casinos, Inc. (Nasdaq: ISLE) announced today development plans for the Isle of Capri Racino at Pompano Park Harness Track in Florida. The $140 million development project includes 1500 slot machines, a poker room and four restaurants, including the company-branded Farraddays' steakhouse, signature tropical-themed buffet, a full-service New York-style delicatessen and one other restaurant yet to be named. The heart of the racino will include a multi-story feature bar offering vibrant high action imagery and audio on multiple video displays. The project also includes new horse racing amenities including a high-tech sports bar and wagering area over- looking the track complete with grandstand seating and a new Winner's Circle. Construction has begun and is not expected to interrupt the racing season. The company expects to open the racino within the next 7-9 months. "Isle of Capri is pleased to be moving forward with our plans to transform Pompano Park from a great racetrack into a modern, state-of-the-art racino providing entertainment options for the residents of southeast Florida and much needed revenue for education in Florida," Tim Hinkley, president and chief operating officer, said. Development of this project is subject to certain conditions including, but not limited to, the receipt of all necessary licenses, approvals and permits. Isle of Capri Casinos, Inc., a leading developer and owner of gaming and entertainment facilities, operates 15 casinos in 13 locations. The company owns and operates riverboat and dockside casinos in Biloxi, Vicksburg, Lula and Natchez, Mississippi; Bossier City and Lake Charles (2 riverboats), Louisiana; Bettendorf, Davenport and Marquette, Iowa; and Kansas City and Boonville, Missouri. The company also owns a 57 percent interest in and operates land-based casinos in Black Hawk (two casinos), Colorado. Isle of Capri's international gaming interests include a casino that it operates in Freeport, Grand Bahama and a two-thirds ownership interest in casinos in Dudley, Walsall and Wolverhampton, England. The company also owns and operates Pompano Park Harness Racing Track in Pompano Beach, Florida. |
