Racing Post deal enters the final furlong26 September 2007ENGLAND AND IRELAND -- As reported by Guardian Unlimited: "A group of Irish investors is close to clinching a deal to buy the Racing Post from newspaper group Trinity Mirror, which is under pressure to tie up its strategic review by the end of the week. "Dublin based investment group FL Partners has teamed up with former Racing Post editor Alan Byrne to bid for the bible of British horse racing and a deal is likely to be announced soon. "But with credit markets in turmoil and the Racing Post's circulation under pressure it is widely thought the sale price will fall well short of Trinity Mirror's hopes..." |
