Quebec Stops Wagering Junior Hockey Games

MONTREAL. Quebec – As reported by the Canadian Press: "Loto-Quebec, citing opposition to wagering on underage athletes, withdrew betting on Quebec Major Junior Hockey League games on Friday.

"The Quebec lottery corporation began offering junior games in its Mise-O-Jeu sports betting program on Tuesday to replace games of the locked-out National Hockey League.

"The decision to immediately stop sales of betting tickets on QMJHL games was made after talks with league president Gilles Courteau, a Loto-Quebec statement said…"
