Protesters Occupy New Brunswick Casino

TOBIQUE, New Brunswick – As reported by the Broadcast News: "Native protesters are continuing an occupation at the casino at the Tobique First Nation in New Brunswick. About a dozen people say they'll remain in the business office until at least Wednesday, when a band council meeting is held to discuss casino issues.

"The protest began last week after a request by some single mothers for Easter money for their children was turned down.

"…Protest spokesperson Monique Nicholas says they want accountability, claiming money's going out based on friendships…"
