Proposal to cut Meadowlands racing to just 6 days17 November 2010NEW JERSEY -- A proposal, by an adviser to Gov. Christie, would see only six days of racing a year at Meadowlands Racetrack, according to the New Jersey Record. Another suggestion from the same Jon F. Hanson report said alternately operations could be moved to Monmouth Park, the report said. The president of the state's harness racing industry trade group, said he felt blindsided by the report, the New Jersey Record quoted. The governor is insisting that tracks be self-sufficient, the report noted. |
