Progressive Gaming wireless product approved22 December 2006LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Progressive Gaming International Corporation (Nasdaq:PGIC) a leading provider of diversified products and services used in the gaming industry worldwide announced today that, after completing a successful field trial at the Palms Hotel and Casino, the State Gaming Control Board's Technology Division has approved Rapid Bet Live(TM) Wireless to be distributed at race and sports books throughout Nevada. Next week, the Company is moving to install Rapid Bet Live at one of the largest and most prestigious Casinos with a race and sports book on the Las Vegas strip. Rapid Bet Live is designed to yield higher hold percentages than traditional outcome wagers as both the "wired" and "wireless" versions allow for live "in game" proposition wagering throughout the entire course of a sporting event. The Rapid Bet Live Wireless technology gives patrons the flexibility of placing sports wagers on a wireless betting device over a secure network in or around the sports book rather than just at the betting counter. Chief Executive Officer Russ McMeekin stated, "This approval represents a very important milestone for our server based gaming products and wireless initiatives. We believe that we have achieved significant success with the introduction of our Rapid Bet Live product including earning the "Product of the Year Award for 2006" by Casino Journal and obtaining strong customer interest during the field trial. This approval adds another product to our portfolio that is designed to provide incremental revenues to the casino operator. We are very excited about this product and expect to begin rolling it out immediately in Nevada." |
