Preteen Arrested on Suspicion of Selling Meth

RENO, Nevada – As reported by the Reno Gazette-Journal: ``She looked about 14 or 16, and stood on the corner of Lake and Mill streets Thursday night.

``The girl, who really was 12, hopped into an undercover detective's car. After asking for a light to spark her cigarette, she arranged a drug deal and soon sold him $60 worth of methamphetamine, said Sgt. Chuck Kendricks, who helps head the regional Street Enforcement Team.

``The sixth-grader arrested by SET detectives likely was the area's youngest suspected drug dealer, said Kendricks, a veteran narcotics officer.

``…At the time of her arrest, police could not locate her parents. It was unknown what school she attends. The girl allegedly sold .16 grams of meth, valued at about $60 on the street, police said.

``Kendricks said the deal took place near Fourth and Virginia streets, within 1,000 feet of the arcade in the Circus Circus Reno…"
