Prairie Meadows Handle Up 20%

IOWA – As reported by the Thoroughbred Times: "Prairie Meadows Racetrack concluded its 2004 meet on July 4 with a 20% increase in all sources average daily handle and a 9% rise in on-track handle.

"The Altoona, Iowa, track, which also offers 24-hour alternative gaming, handled an average of $793,160 during its 49-day meet. Average daily on-track handle was $79,777 compared with $72,999 in 2003 when Prairie Meadows offered a 52-day meet…"
