Praesepe raises the bar with £100,000 CHIPS donation

1 October 2013

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Praesepe, which operates the UK's largest chain of adult gaming centres as well as the Beacon brand of bingo clubs, made history last week when it presented a cheque for £100,000 to CHIPS, the gaming industry charity which funds the purchase of bespoke powered wheelchairs for youngsters for whom the NHS cannot or will not help. The cheque, which was presented to Linda Lindsay at the charity's annual golf day held at Wentworth, is the largest single donation CHIPS has received since its formation.

"It's not very often, if ever, that as individuals we get the chance to change peoples lives, but so many lives will be changed by this amazing donation from everyone at Praesepe," said Linda Lindsay, who helped form CHIPS. "£100,000 -– gosh it's a lot of noughts -– will change the lives of at least 17 youngsters and their families up and down the UK."

To round the proceedings off, the Praesepe team of Phil Gibbs, Steve Ambrose, David Edwards and Amos Mataba topped the field of golfers to win the 12th British Gaming Golf Championship.
