Poll: Nebraskans Favor Gambling

LINCOLN, Nebraska – As reported by the Associated Press: "A poll commissioned and paid for by a coalition that wants to legalize casinos in Nebraska found that a majority of registered voters favor expanded gambling in the state.

"The poll, released Tuesday by the Keep the Money in Nebraska Coalition, found that 54 percent of randomly selected Nebraskans likely would support legalizing casino gambling while 46 percent would oppose it.

"…The poll results may be accurate, but attitudes can change before voters head to the polls on Nov. 2 to decide the issue, said Pat Loontjer, leader of the anti-gambling group Gambling with the Good Life.

"…Today, a coalition representing nearly every major religious denomination in the state will be announced as opposing expanded gambling, Loontjer said…"
