Poll: Both California Initiatives Favored

LOS ANGELES, California – As reported by NBC: "A new poll says that voters are in favor of two separate Indian gambling initiatives that would give the state a bigger share of the profits.

"One of the proposals would allow more slot machines and other games. In return, tribes would have to pay a tax at the same rate that corporations pay now.

"The other measure would tax tribes' gambling revenues at 25 percent and require them to accept state laws and court jurisdiction.

"…A survey released by the Field Poll Wednesday morning shows that both propositions are supported by a majority of voters…"
