Politician mum on credit-card allegation

9 April 2010

HALIFAX, Nova Scotia -- A Canadian MLA accused of abusing his disabled friend's credit card to gamble is remaining mum on the allegations for now, CBC News reported.

MLA Trevor Zinck said the allegation is "serious" and intends to hold a press conference next week, CBC said.

The MLA, who admitted drinking and gambling problems, has been mired in some controversy over reimbursements from his former party and now stands as an Independent.

The allegation centres on his alleged misuse of a disabled man's credit card, for whom he previously worked, to play poker online, the CBC report noted.
