Police search for Las Vegas Hilton sports book robbers

2 October 2008

Las Vegas Sun

LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- Metro Police released photographs of two suspects who robbed the Las Vegas Hilton's Race and Sports Superbook early Friday morning.

Witnesses described the suspects as being 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-7 and weighing 140 to 160 pounds. Both were wearing dark clothing and black motorcycle helmets, police said.

One suspect seen in a surveillance photo is wearing white shoes and has a distinct angled stripe from the front of the helmet to the back.

The robbery duo was armed with guns and stole an undisclosed amount of money and casino chips, police said.

The suspects fled in a Silver Dodge Durango, which had been previously stolen.

The suspects left the Hilton and drove to a nearby spot where they entered a dark-colored four-door hatchback vehicle, possibly a Toyota Matrix, police said.

Both vehicles were driven by an unknown third suspect.

The actions of the suspects were recorded on a video surveillance system, police said. By releasing these photos, police hope that the public can help identify them.

Anyone with information regarding this robbery is urged to call Metro's robbery section at 828-3591. For those wishing to remain anonymous, please call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.

A $25,0000 reward has been offered by the Las Vegas Hilton and may be available to the person providing information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects.
